In the heart of the captivating rolling fields, resided a boy named Shepherd. His life was pure, simple yet virtuous. His only responsibility was to tend to his flock of ewes.

Their soft bleating and the whispering of the wind through the single tree on the hilltop were his main co-dwellers. Day upon day, watching over his charges inculcated in him a feeling of calm satisfaction.

One morning he dashed into website the village yelling “Wolf! There is a wolf preying on my sheep!” The scared villagers ran up the hills to offer assistance but saw nothing threatening.

The boy giggled at the puzzle on their faces. This game laughed for a few days more. However, one noon, a real wolf did attack the herd. The shepherd boy dashed for aid screaming “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one showed up.

Frustrated and alone, the boy fought against the wolf but could protect only few of his sheep. Devastated, he went back to the town only to be met with a reprimand on honesty and the results of false alarms.

The story of this shepherd boy has been handed down generations as a mediaeval parable to teaching the significance of honesty, the implications of dishonesty and the risks of crying wolf. Moreover, it stresses how trust once broken, is difficult to reclaim. It's a story as relevant today as it was then.
